A Rich History

Recently I explored an old palace in my city with some friends.  The weather was beautiful, and we had a great time exploring, taking pictures, and enjoying one of our city's treasures.  The palace buildings and courtyards sit on the edge of the city overlooking the river.  From the palace we could see not only great views of the city but the surrounding mountains as well.  It was neat to wander through the old palace complexes and wonder what life was like when South Asia was ruled by the Maharajas (great kings).  I love living somewhere with old palaces and forts.  The history of South Asia is rich and romantic, stirring the imagination.  This day was the perfect example of why I will miss South Asia so much when I leave.
